Lizelot de Stigter
Lizelot de Stigter is educated as a balletdancer and specialised in modern dance, contemporary dance, and dance-theatre. Studied dance and choreography at P.A.R.T.S. (Brussels), the school of Anne Theresa de Keersmaeker.
Lizelot is a well known and highly esteemed tango dancer and teacher for over 10 years, in which she was working and developing together with Ard Huiberts.
Her style and technique are mainly developed through dancing and working with ‘living tango legends’ like Tété (Rusconi), Facundo Posadas, and Pablo Verón. Several times she was partnering Pablo Verón giving workshops with him in Holland and Germany (a.o. Tangomagía Festival 2005, Amsterdam).
Her teaching is known to be full of fascination for and knowledge of movement. She connects her students with the source of the movement rather then teaching them ’steps’. Uses clear, instructive forms and methodic conception to gain freedom of movement and depth of feeling and experiencing. She offers courses, workshops throughout Europe and worldwide, special events for ‘absolute beginners’ as well as for (dance)professionals, tango-vacation-weeks, private classes, etc.
Traditional styles, neo tango, milonga, vals, posture, bodywork, awareness.
